Pynwheel Touch Mobile is a tool for apartment communities to show off their properties to prospective residents with interactive maps, photos and floor plans. It is a complementary product to Pynwheel Touch, an app for large wall-mounted touchscreens in leasing offices. Pynwheel tour technology helps to convert more tours to leases! Only communities that have signed up for this service are searchable.

Pynwheel Touch Mobile provides apartment communities with a platform to display their properties using interactive maps, live pricing, and availability tracking. Each community has its own design, amenities, and floor plans, dynamically managed through a CMS. Users can filter apartments based on bedrooms, rooms, and availability and explore 360° apartment views.
A key feature is community-specific amenity maps, where I implemented custom markers to highlight different areas such as bedrooms, kitchens, and other facilities. The app also integrates Google Maps API to display nearby restaurants, schools, banks, and hospitals, which can be filtered based on user preferences. Additionally, residents can subscribe to community updates through a built-in brochure screen.
I developed Pynwheel Touch Mobile independently, ensuring full responsiveness across iOS, Android, tablets, and large screens. One of the biggest challenges was handling multiple community-specific designs, which required dynamically creating screens before loading data for a specific community.
Another major technical hurdle was integrating custom maps for each amenity and implementing interactive markers on amenity maps. This involved applying mathematical formulas to accurately position markers on bedrooms, rooms, swimming pools, and other facilities.
